What I find unfortunate is that Boukpeti is french and lives in France. He only competed for Togo because his father is from there and he couldn't get on the French team because he was too old. I think that is a classic example of country jumping. I think the gold won by Mongolia is much more significant.

For me, it's when Benjamin Boukpeti won a Bronze for Togo. The first medal ever for that nation, and the dude was so happy he broke his paddle. That's what the Olympics is all about, not Phelps sponsorhsip deals.

Can I reserve my vote for the inevitable "Bolt tests positive for performance enhancing drugs" moment?

I hate to be such a skeptic -- and I hope I'm wrong -- but if I learned anything from Mark Mcgwire, Barry Bonds, Floyd Landis, etc. it's that if something seems too amazing to be real, it probably isn't.
