I have posted the rules below regarding this year's Fantasy Olympics. We're always open to suggestions to improve the league, so let me know if you have any rule-change suggestions.
The 2008 Summer Olympic Games are fast approaching, so we need to get our participants squared away in time to organize drafts, etc. Thus, if you are interested in playing Fantasy Olympics this year, let me know by this Friday, July 4. Shoot me an e-mail at fantasyolympics@hotmail.com.

Cool idea guys. The wife and I have been doing something similar since Sydney. A couple of questions -- if you don't mind. Why only limit to Americans? Opening up to non-Americans means more events to watch. What are you going to do with Phelps? He's almost a lock at 8 medals. kinda imbalacing Do you weight any of your events differently? Make Track or swimming more important than Shooting?? just curious we always have to argue these points every Olympics.

Hi Damole. Thanks for checking out the site. A few answers for your questions:
1. We have gone with only Americans for the ease of administration and a hint of patriotism. There are nearly 600 athletes on Team USA alone, so we feel like that is plenty to choose from.
2. Phelps is part of the reason we've expanded to three leagues this year. Multiple people will have a chance to get him, and probably compete for the overall title. Plus, you never know. In the 2006 winter games, Bode Miller, Chad Hendrick and Anton Apollo Ohno were supposed to bring home all the hardware, but ended up with three medals between them.
3. We haven't really thought about weighting any of the events. We think that's part of the strategy -- you have to know which events are more likely to produce multiple medals. But, this is the first time we've done a summer games, which is obviously much bigger and more complicated... so we'll have to see what happens.
